3/14/03 - Once again, we started off in a man-toman defense and seemed to be doing just fine! Now keep in mind that over the years we have NEVER ONCE beaten the SharpShooters. Even with Richie sitting out with a bad back, it looked like our day had finally come. At the half we had a nine point lead.


But true to form, the second half featured a host of Deflator turnovers. There was one stretch late in the 3rd where we didn't even get a shot attempt in about 7 or 8 possessions!

I'd like to blame the officiating, (there was only 1 ref for some reason - that's what $750 gets you these days). On the game's final play, Cooke tried to wiz a full-court pass to me for a desperation three pointer (not that it would have made a difference in the outcome). The ball WHAPPED off of the ref's bit noggin and bounced out of bounds. I secretly found this very satisfying. .

Oh well. On the bright side, it looks like Sarge has rigged the league so that we're in the playoffs REGARDLESS of how lousy our record gets. But nevermind that - we MUST win Friday night agains Dugout Dreams!
